Who is online in Indonesia?

According to the ADMA Digital Marketing Handbook 2011:

There are currently 34 million internet users in Indonesia, representing a 14% internet penetration rate.

By 2015, Indonesia’s internet penetration rate is expected to hit 37%.

Approximately 73% of the internet population in Indonesia is 34 years old or below.

Indonesia’s online population is fairly male dominated – only 36% of Internet users in Indonesia are women.

Online Indonesians spent most of their time on emailing (59%), social networking (58%), instant messaging (58%) and searching for information (56%). The least popular online activities for online Indonesians are e-commerce and online banking with only 5% of users engaging in these activities.
